Hi

Has anyone ever felt low end if shooting with a yongnou flash on your camera instead of a high end 580EX?

Never.. although to be 100% accurate, I've never shot with a YN on my camera.. I rarely use any flash on the actual camera.

I'm proud to show them off.. They're a great value. I have four of them.. 2 YN-560, 2 YN-460 II.

Same with my RF-602's.. I've got 2 Tx, and 4 Rx.. I get questions about them all the time.

The features and low price of the Yongnuo helps me get over any feelings of "low end"

The YN560 look a great deal like the 580ex II. Anyone who knows enough about photography to tell the difference will admire you for your sense of value and being able to shoot in manual mode.

I honestly feel like my "low end" YN-560 should cost MORE. It's and excellent tool for strobist work and hasn't missed a beat.

No, I feel better every time I use it, because it reminds me of how much money I saved.

I can't feel 'low end' when using a Yongnuo. After looking at the Canon 270EX, Canon's low end flash, and realizing it's 4X as much as my 460ii I definitely don't feel low end. At least the YN460ii looks like a flash, in my mind that is.

The 560 has basically the same dimensions as the 580EX, and look almost identical. I have two 460ii's and rf602s and I am extremely happy about the cost/performance they've given me. I'll most likely follow Brandonsi and get 2 560s before its all said and done.
Feeling low end shooting with Yongnuo flashes is like feeling low end shooting with the 50 1.8 instead of the 50 1.4... IMO :)

I guess it might depend on what you have it mounted to. I have 1 460 and 2 460II and they work great. I don't care about feelings because I don't have the money or need for a high end canon flash. If my paycheck depended on it than that would be another story.

I have a 580EX II and a YN560 and when used as OCF with my cybersyncs, they're virtually identical! I bought the 580EX II so that I'd have at least one speedlite with ETTL but as far as I'm concerned, all future speedlite purchases will be YongNuo. 99% of the time my speedlites are used off-camera anyhow so ETTL is no use for most of the work I do. That aside, if it dies on me... honestly, who cares?! My YN-560 was $80 including shipping and duties. If I have to replace it, I won't break the bank. So far though, it's been bullet-proof. My ONLY nitpick about the YN-560 is that there is no button to push in to rotate or change the angle of the head. It's a minor nitpick but for the price, I'd be an idiot to complain!

Ok agree but what I mean if you are shooting outside and others have the 580 on their camera. For the moment I have a YN467 ETTL flash

Nope! I really like my YN-467 and most of the time, people aren't paying attention to the brand anyways. So what does it really matter as long as it gets the job done reliably?
