I want to upgrade my sigma 30mm, and my choices are the canon 24L mk1 or the 35L???

Both are excellent the obvious question, do you want wider or longer?

You can't really go wrong with either the 24 or 35, in my opinion. Both are great lenses. Would you like it to be wider or tighter than your Sigma for framing?

For me it's the 24. I use the mk1 on my 7D all the time. I just like the 24mm FL much better than 35mm on a crop sensor, personally.

I've got both. I like the 24L on the crop because I like perspective, the narrow DOF stands out more. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I'd go for 35L.

i guess test it on ur 15-85 first. do you like the 24 more or 35 more? i think i would go with 35 but that's my preference. also what exactly are you trying to upgrade from your sigma? my understanding is IQ will be pretty much the same...do you just need a better build quality? a red ring around the front?

Well I love playing with 1.4, but I think I need something a little wider than my 30, 24L looks like the way forward :)
