My print shopping cart system gives me a comma separated list of image names that customers have ordered (eg IMG001, IMG002). With Windows XP I opened windows explorer, hit search in the customer directory, gave it the comma separated list, and it gave me the raw files I could drag and drop into Photoshop to process and print.

In Windows 7 I can search for one image at a time, but it won't take a comma separated list and return multiple results.

Is there any way to make Windows 7 find multiple files so I can drag them into PS to process and print?

I found a suggestion that says replace the comma between filenames with the word OR (in capitals) in Vista or Win 7

can't say I've tried it though...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Perfect thanks mate! I spent an hour working on this but had no luck at all, having a dumb day I guess.

another day, another thing learned...

(can't remember what useful piece of information I've lost to fit said new thing learned into the memory though!)

I found a solution - use an explorer replacement. The best options i've found are:
- Explorer Plus Plus (external link) (free).
- Xplorer2 (external link) ($20)

Xplorer2 has more functions, but Explorer++ is good enough and works well. I prefer the find command of explorer++, but both work well. I'll use both for the 20 day trial period and decide which I like best.

Check out Directory Opus. Has built-in RAW viewer among many things.

Thanks, I saw that as an option, but it's significantly more expensive and has no significant extra features that i'd use. I don't want a raw viewer in my file viewer, I have imaging tools for that. I rarely work with individual images anyway.

Seems a bit drastic, just to avoid typing the word "OR" :) Are there other benefits?

Lots of little things. Win7 explorer's made for dummies not power users. I'd rather have a bash shell than win7 explorer.

Also it's not drastic, it's just another program you run. Simple :)
