I'm just curious, is there some reason you've ruled out the Sigma 85mm? I've been very impressed with the hands-on reviews here. I sold my 85L, mainly because I didn't need a fast lens at that FL but also because the AF was like turning around an aircraft carrier in speed. If I find myself needing a fast 85mm again I'll probably give the Sigma a try.

Ya good call, for 900$ i would get it in a heartbeat if I needed it. The 85 1.2 v.1 is supposed to be the slowest focusing lens around.

Unfortunately Sigma glass has gone up too, it's now $969. I've seen several sold used around $800.

I'm not opposed to it. It seems the Sigma 85mm sells just as quick as the Canon 85mm.

I just need to camp out on the Classified section longer and refresh my browser quicker....

If anyone sees a good deal on a Mark II or Sigma, I'd appreciate a heads-up. ;)
