Part 2 features the young birds -- the juvenile bald eagles.

1. The simple fact is, the juveniles are absolutely gorgeous.

IMAGE: http://photos.jgrussell.com/Birds/Alaska-2011/IMG2655/1237744686_DARvD-O.jpg

2. Their coloration is just stunning no matter what pose they're in ...

IMAGE: http://photos.jgrussell.com/Birds/Alaska-2011/IMG6880/1238488980_vzZMf-O.jpg

3. ... and the colors are often enhanced by fish guts on the beak!!

IMAGE: http://photos.jgrussell.com/Birds/Alaska-2011/IMG4848/1237513099_DxYyY-O.jpg

4. They learn to fish while very young, still living near their parents' nests.

IMAGE: http://photos.jgrussell.com/Birds/Alaska-2011/IMG1327/1238660663_X3Pvz-O.jpg

5. And they're pretty darned good at it, too!

IMAGE: http://photos.jgrussell.com/Birds/Alaska-2011/IMG4324/1238660836_S25nK-O.jpg

6. Some of 'em have a real Attitude.

IMAGE: http://photos.jgrussell.com/Birds/Alaska-2011/IMG2208/1237402620_dRkMH-O.jpg

7. I nicknamed this one "The Punk."

IMAGE: http://photos.jgrussell.com/Birds/Alaska-2011/IMG4605/1237349836_JnazW-O.jpg

8. He spent a lot of time one afternoon protecting a fish from anyone and everyone.

I couldn't agree more about photographing juvis over the adults...their coloring is spectacular just like this second set of images. ;)

Both parts of this set have been absolutely phenomenal shooting. But these images are among the best I've ever seen of these birds!

Awesome! Wish I could capture these! The area where I use to photograph are only two of them. They are very rare in Holland. Very very nice what you captured!

Stunning images, Judy! I've gone over them 3 or 4 times trying to decide which one(s) I liked best, and decided that I can't decide. Great stuff.
