I bought an Eye-Fi ProX2 SD card the other day. I also ordered a CF card adapter for the thing. I put the card into the camera and was bluntly told that my camera could not format the card. WTF !!!

It seems adapters don't work with Eye-Fi SD cards  although all the sales crap will let you think it will. So forget about WiFi-ing your 5d Mkii on the cheap

I so hate CF cards, they are just lumpy old siht that has had it's day. I'm depressed

Canon, move on!

Snaps

Canon 5d Mkii ~ f/4 24-105L USM ~ EF 50mm f/1.8 II
EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM ~dye Speedlite 580EX Mkii. Mitsubishi CP-D707-DW dye-sub double printer. Bowen 500's & Lastolite 400's flash heads. Lastolite TriFlector

Nothin wrong with CF. Sorry to hear your endeavours met with failure. Any chance to take the merchandise back?

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

I like CF, they're just the right size :).

It could be the CF adapter you bought. Did you try formatting the card in a PC?

I can attest that the eyefi cards DO with with the right CF adapters and they work in a 5D2.

That said, mine was the original eyefi card and the adapter was some cheapey I bought off newegg.com.

Snap out of it, the cards not at fault. Cheap is at fault.

Completely agree. Sometimes technology makes things get too small.

I have one of each in my units and I tell ya, the little bitty #%€?¿‰ card is just a wee bit small, fumbling around trying to grasp it for a swap. I would prefer two CF.

As Top Hat said, the problem is not the CF card, it's trying to do business on the cheap.

And...what can be put into an SD card could certainly be put into a CF card. There has been a CF card radio transmission capability for years. Write a note to Eye-Fi.

Sorry your camera wasn't more polite. Maybe Canon should address that.

I hate CF cards too.. went back to SD and don't ever have to worry about broken pins. Not like I ever had any though.
