Guys I want to use my flash when shooting from a vehicle using my window mount.I tried using my flash direct on my cameras hotshoe but its too high.Keeps knocking against the vehicle's roof.So I reckon a flash bracket is in order but how?

Can I mount the flash next to the side of the lens?Maybe making a diy bracket that screws into the cams tripod socket and going to side of the lens?I am using a gimbal head.

I have also thought of lying the flash flat but floating above the top of the lens.Using a better beamer with my flash.Would REALLY appreciate your guys input, ideas.Would really be a shame if I can't use the flash from a vehicle(one of reasons I bought the flash)

Do I really need to use a off shoe cord?My flash can act as a master and slave. Can I just get a transmitter and use the flash as a slave?Or do I need the cord because of the ETTL?

Canon 50D,Canon 760D,Canon 400 F5.6 L,Tamron 150-600mm G2,Canon 50 F1.8 STM, Sigma 17-70,Sigma EF-610 DG Super flash,Velbon Sherpa 600Rf Tripod,FRAM GIMBAL HEAD,Raynox DCR-250 Macro lens!

Your set up is similar to what I use at my kitchen window. Add another window mount for the flash and I have in this photo:

You may want to pass on the product placement when you are in the car.

It keeps bugging me how am I going to use the flash if i have to pan, tilt.Would the flash still keep even lighting? Also using a better beamer(Thank Canon Bob)which I LOVE.Thanks for the pic,Jerry.Hope this thread can continue.Would love to see other photogs's setups too.

That looks like a good way to break your window.

RRS makes all kinds of flash brackets that would work. Get your wallet out though.
