I'm interested in this as well. I think CRT's were better for calibration, but you can not find them in stores anymore. So hopefully someone has a response for a good LCD one in the $200 range. :) I know my laptops lcd is horrible for color accuracy.

The solution is to cover your windows and get your lighting under control. Then it won't matter whether you work at night or mid day... the lighting is the same.

but in short i want to buy a second monitor

You're looking for a budget priced monitor. If the units you listed don't have an IPS display panel, forget about them and keep searching. That's your key requirement - an IPS display.

I'd see what the available of Dell monitors are in your area. The Dell 2211 and 2311 are great budget IPS panels. Now they are budget IPS panels, so they won't even be close to your EIZO, but they can hold their own.

The 2410 is a step up but here in the US they run about twice the price of the 2311's.

what do you mean

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking.

But... an IPS panels offers superior color representation over your typical TN Panel (what most LCD screens are). When it comes to photo and video work IPS panels are presently one of the best options as a result of both their availability and color accuracy.

Although since you have an EIZO you really don't need a IPS panel for your second monitor, but there is a very good chance your two monitors would look nothing alike when it comes to their colors. With an IPS panel you would be a lot closer in colors. Either way you'd still probably be best off doing your final color correction on your EIZO, but the IPS would keep things more consistent throughout and really if you are serious about photo or video stuff, I don't think there is a reason not to go IPS.

The Dell's I listed previously should fall in your price range.

The Dell U2211 and u2311 definitely should, and you may be lucky with the U2410.

Just look at the specification of each monitor... If they have an IPS display panel, it WILL say so. Period.

Do a Google search for affordable IPS paneled monitors.

Some popular models:

Dell U2311h
NEC EA231wmi
ViewSonic VP2365WB
HP ZR22w

Since you have a high end monitor already, why not think about moving averything bu the image you're working on to the second monitor? This means panels, tools, everything but the PS main window, or maybe just the PS image at full screen. Then the quality of the second screen is less important - and less expensive.

Je n'avais pas besoin de cette hypothèse-là.

Yeah... What Hen3Ry said.

But how old and how large/small is your Eizo? Is it a CRT or LCD?
