Mods,

Would it be possible to increase the moderation in the Market Watch forum? Over the last few months, the noise to signal ratio has getting high in that forum. There is an increasing number of threads that should be started elsewhere and do not fall anywhere close to the guidelines for posting in that forum. It used to be a great place to find deals, but not so much anymore.

With that being said, I also sincerely thank you for everything you do for the POTN community. I know that being a mod is a difficult and time-consuming process...and I thank you for the time you give to this site!

I wanted to bring up the issue with the Market Watch forum because I feel like it's been slipping away from its original intent.

Thanks!
Bryan

As with anywhere else on the Forum, if you see something that you don't think belongs, report it using the

"Report" button. There are more forums than there are Moderators; we can't be monitoring everywhere without giving up participation in the areas we would prefer to visit.

Thanks Bryan for caring about POTN!

As Jon said, reporting posts will get mod attention. We can not possibly read all posts, and we are very grateful for members helping us in that.

POTN marketplace will get a serious redesign where many issues, if not all, will be addressed. It is part of a complete new custom software for POTN that has been under work for over two years now. When, is "when it's ready", I am eager to get it out, but also I will not release it in hurry. I will invite all goldmembers to test it when time is right.

Thanks Jon! I certainly use the report post button in the future. I hadn't before because it says to only use it to report spam, harassment, or fighting.

And thanks Pekka. Looking forward to the redesign when it arrives!

Thanks again for a well-run site,
Bryan

For the record, the "report post" button can be used for any case where you'd like to bring a thread to a moderators attention (we all see the notice).

No one gets into trouble for reporting threads (well, unless they overly abuse the feature), the moderators will decide whether to act or not.

I'm happy to say that I've had little use for that button. There are so many helpful people and it is so much fun to participate in the different areas of interest. I don't know how you did it Pekka, but the ratio of decent caring photographers to trolls is impressive.
