bought the yn465 on ebay and dont think that it works. I put it on my camera, turn it on to "ttl" have my camera take a picture and it doesnt fire. I am in a partially dark room and it doesnt work. I press the pilot button and it still doesnt fire. Am i missing something or is it defective? This is my first flash so im not quite sure how it works.

I have the same flash for my T1i and have had no problems. Did you go into the menu and set the cameras external flash settings? It is covered in the handy features section in the T1i manual.

I hope this helps you out.

Sorry, I didn't see where it wouldn't fire if you press the pilot button. Does the TTL light come on? If so, I would contact the seller. I have read that some earlier builds had issues.

ill look at it in the menu but it didnt work for any of the settings, also the red sensor light comes on as if it were sensing the light in the room but it still doesnt work. yes the ttl light comes on, but it never flashes...
