I took a trip this past weekend to Ceder Key and took a drive through the lower Suwannee river basin trail nearby. Caught a few pics of this guy wanting to cross the road. He was a pretty cooperative model. After a while he feld confident enough to continue his trek into the marsh across the road.

Nice pics. That's a good-looking snake.

I like to drink a few beers and then tell my buddies I can hold one.

Oh, wait. That was a tv show I watched. ;)

Thank you. bw!

His scales and color are nice. I'll bet he just molted.
I like the third straight on shot the best, but you should have had a stick or something to poke at him to get him to open wide for you . They like to show that mouth, and it make a lot of viewers get the willies.

The viewers may get the willies, but not as bad as I would. Not a chance I am going to play with a venomous snake.;)

Thanks, these were all shot with a 100-400mm. You don't have to guess what the focal length was , you know. That lense is remarkable.
