DavidArbogast Cream of the Crop More info | Jul 01, 2012 14:06 | #532 I spent the day yesterday with my 5D III and Zeiss 1.4/35mm and enjoyed it. With a couple of exceptions, I relied on the viewfinder and focus confirmation exclusively without too many missed focus. Here I missed the focus on butterfly by a hair or two: Monarch IMAGE LINK: http://www.flickr.com/photos/camp_arbo/7476340258/ Globe Thistle David | Flickr

On the page 30, the cropped image of the dog from J-B looks really sharp to me, but I cant get the same IQ on my 5D mk II, my 5D mk II has EG-S installed but in my tests they were done with LiveView 10x, and were recorded as RAW file without any adjustment of the Picture Style. The result were soft images at f1.4, so I was wondering if J-B had shoot the picture with RAW or just JPG or it's because that my lens got a problem which I saw some of you guys has replaced with a new copy. Here I got two examples that I took yesterday, they were the sharpest that I could get with LiveView 10x at f1.4 handheld, all picture were from RAW converted to JPG with Aperture and cropped in PS CS5 without any other PP. That crop of the dog was shot in RAW (I never shoot in jpeg). You didn't do any PP? You should always sharpen a littlebit to make up for the AA filter in the 5DII IMHO.

Do you guys increase the colour saturation or is this just naturally Zeiss? Colors are one of the strong points of the zeiss lenses in general.
