I use UV/Protection on all my glass.

I have a circ-polarizer.

I guess I am debating on whether to invest in an ND filter.

No option for no filter? I have high quality lenses so I wouldn't consider using one.

B+W UV filters on all my glass. Not cheap but they do not impact IQ as far as I can determine.

OP asks what type do you use, not if you use one or not.

I'm one who uses filters only when needed and would have like to see the ability to select more than one. I voted ND which is really GND, but that was not an option. A very close second would be a polarizing filter.

This. I gave up the UV "protective" filters when I started using real filters and having to remove and store the UV filter became a hassle.

I think the question is "When you do have a filter on, what filter is it?" That question is different from the "Do you use a filter all the time or not?" debate. No?

Own a CP and a couple ND, use the CP when needed, same with the other two .... normally no filter on lens. Not getting into the UV thang.
