Are you talking about softness only or is colors off also?
When you hit "convert and save" do you save as full JPEG or do you resize?
Do you select image quality 10 or do you choose a lower setting?
Looking at a full sized RAW file and a full sized JPEG file in DPP you will be looking at two different types of sharpness. You need to apply sharpening to the converted JPEG file.
Maybe that's the issue i'm having then. When I look at the RAW file and do my sharpening, what I did was to pull the slider all the way to the right (500) and it appears to create a lovely sharp image in it's raw state.
So, from what you are saying, although i'm looking at my very impressive sharp shot, I will not get anything like that when I convert/save?
If that's the case, then that's a shame because the sharpening (I assume it's the unsharp mask) never even gets close to the crisp/snappy RAW file.
