In one of my last threads, somehow a comment about placing a lens cap was brought up. I've heard not to place a lens cap in your pocket because of lint purposes. Where do you guys place your lens caps and where can I buy a bag/pouch small enough for my lens cap so I can put it in my pocket?

pocket here. lint has never been an issue for me, and even if lint did transfer to my lens, i have a uv filter on it which wipes clean easily.

Seriously. Who is this anal about their lens? If it gets too linty, blow it off.

Is it easier to clean lenses with a uv filter?

I just buy them in bulk from chinese stores on Ebay. They work well enough and are cheap. It's more for convenience and so I don't lose my caps more than it is lint.

It is safer for sure, if there is a UV filter, you never really have to clean the actual front lens element, which means no risk to scratching the front element when wiping it clean.

UV filters can be expensive, but it is a lot less scary if you scratch the filter because it can easily be replaced.

Pocket as well :)

If any lint makes it on the lens then blow it off with a rocket blower.
