My stay in the Grand Tetons was a little disappointing as far as photography is concerned. We had rain and clouds everyday. The mountains were obscured the whole time we were there except for a one afternoon after the lighting had become less than ideal. My dad and I tried our hardest. We were up every morning before dawn hoping to get a classic Oxbow bend shot or Mormon Barn scene. This is the best I could do.

Mormon Row Barn at High Noon. This area looks best in the early morning, but we took what we could get. The clouds finally broke and we headed up to Mormon row first.

Snake River overlook. Ansel Adams took a famous picture from this location. The trees in the forground have grown up since then and the shot isn't as nice anymore. It was fun taking the same picture as the old mater anyhow.

Here's the last one taken just before rain moved back in. This is an old beaver pond with the Teons in the background.

Hope you enjoyed. If I don't respond right away to any comments it's because I am leaving on a three day trip in a few hours. I mostly posted these for Stan. I couldn't keep him waiting another three days.

I love the Tetons, and these are very nice! We have all seen the Mormon Barn at sunrise, but this is a unique shot! I like them all!

Wow. Great shots. The Tetons are impressive from what you show. They're now on y list of places to visit.

Thanks a lot, Dave. Your kindness is much appreciated. I think you got some real winners despite the crappy weather. We all have that problem of limited time in an area, and you can't count on good weather. You should be proud of what you were able to do. I like all of them, but the first really does it for me.

#1 is just great. Sometimes mothernature just won't cooperate. My wife and I raced up to Rocky Mountain National Park Friday afternoon hoping to get some aspen shots and the light was so bad we did not even take a single shot. The sunset the day before was spectacular, but of course we were not able to shoot then. So, we made lemonaid by having prime rib at Nickys!:D

Haven't eaten at Nicky's, but I'll bet it's good. Nice for you, Mark, you can run over to RMNP almost any time and catch good weather most of the time.

That first one is real impressive. The barn in it adds alot. Very nice job.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

They look pretty good to me. The weather was just turning bad when we left Jackson but it was just ahead of the leaves turning. Beautiful area and fun place to photograph. Thanks for the reminders of a fun trip.

I couldn't even take time to change out of my uniform, had to check for comments on POTN. Wow, thanks for the huge response. It's really nice to come back from a long trip and see you enjoyed my pics.

#1 is my favorite also. I think it's my most favorite of the trip. The clouds were very frustrating, but when they finally broke it was fantastic.

Thanks again for all the comments. I have to get some dinner now.

Dave

All great shots. When I was there in 2004 the Tetons were all snow covered. These pics give an entirely different perspective.
