I purchased a set of 1TX/2RX RF-602 from yongnuo ebay store about a year ago. Due to frying my receivers, I recently got a 1TX/1RX set to test/replace the dead pieces, ordered through Amazon.com but from a US seller. Upon receipt of the new set I noticed a distinct difference in parts of the sets, specifically in the transmitters. The set from yongnuo was labeled RF-602TX, while the latest set was marked RF-600TX. The front of the 602TX has the indicator light with a PC connection; the 600TX has the indicator light and the PC connection hole is covered.

Is there a difference between HK/China goods and US goods? Has anyone else noticed this? Is the 600TX a newer version? Curious to know why the difference, if anyone knows.

While the PC connection isn't critical, I do use it to connect to my light meter. In the end I will have one specifically for the light meter and the other for the camera. Does anyone else use the PC connection on the transmitter?

cheers

I found this post on another forum (external link) regarding the RF-600TX. Looks like it's meant to be a "revised" version of the RF-602TX, but the author of that post has pulled the TX apart and hasn't noticed any changes except for the removal of the pc-sync port parts.

The RF-600TX is supposed to work better with TTL cords. There is a new Yongnuo kit called the RT-600 which comprises a Yongnuo FC-681 TTL cord (which has a hotshoe on both ends) and RF-602s (including RF-600TX transmitter). It's sort of like Yongnuo's answer to TTL-pass-through, which the RF-603s lack.

I have used the pc sync connection for a second flash. Interesting that there's two versions

Just got home and checked, the RF-602 set I received this week from Shanghai was RF-602, not 600.
