I called AB today to inquire about availability of the eagerly-anticipated short, properly fitting protective caps for the Einstein. Apparently, they're now in stock. PCB will send you new caps for your Einsteins at no cost BUT you must pay for shipping. That's certainly more than fair. My four replacement caps will ship out on Monday.

Significantly more than I expected but it would be bad form to complain considering there's no charge for the caps themselves. I live in NY and will be getting four caps. Shippinq was quoted as something over $11. To put this in perspective, my last AB order a few weeks ago consisted of a 51" silver PLM, 11" long throw reflector, and 11" grid for the LT reflector. Shipping for that entire order was $13.70. Go figure!

My four replacement caps were delivered today. What a difference:

Aside from being shorter, they (unlike the older caps) are also grabbed securely by the mount's fingers. Very nice.
