So I'm doing banquet photos tonight for a group and I see video footage that I did with my 7d while I was drunk. It was still decent. And yet they didn't want to hire me that night. The footage was put on YouTube on my account. Do they have rights to use my footage? And can I charge them for it?

IIRC YouTube offers the ability to embed video's into your own web pages.

If all they are doing is streaming your YouTube video then I struggle to see what you can hope to get out of it. I could embed the video in my own web page if I so wished.

If you are unhappy with them using it take the video out of the public domain, i.e. delete it from YouTube..

Ya but they didn't stream it. They downloaded it and put it into their slideshow work

Is it just me or does there seem to be a number of issues here? ;)

As a point of legality, putting a video of YouTube does not put it into public domain. The creator still owns the copyright.

I use ProShow Producer to create my videos, for one reason because it allows me to brand the video in a lower corner so that my logo appears throughout the video even if downloaded.
