i have no ligaments left in the back of my hand so they have to fuse the bones together

my wrist has no cartiledge left to support my thumb so it's bone on bone

i'll barely be able to bend my wrist when it's complete but my pain should be gone.

i won't be able to shoot for a long time, i'll be in a cast most of the summer and then therapy for 3-4 months

Have them affix a 1/4-20 screw protruding from the cast, then you can mount a Q-R plate to it and snap your camera on/off. Your sling should act like a monopod (sort of).

Heh! I'd say that's funny, Roger, but the real funny thing is that I'm liking the idea:)!

Hmm.....Ya know what? That's a pretty good idea! I think martin should do it.....hehe. Could start a whole new trend for people unable to use both hands on a camera.....hehe.

Well, it's a cool concept -- I'd probably opt for one of the "advanced compacts" over a DSLR just 'cause of the weight factor, but it definitely could be done!

Martin, can ya hear us?

Martin's a pro. Were I he, I would opt for something like an Olympus E-5 with a couple of selected lenses, like the 12-60mm and the 50-200mm. This would drop the overall weight by about half, significantly reduce the overall size, and still give the power and flexibility of a true DSLR, and a damned good one at that.
