Crysis 2 is less PC-goodies than Battlefield Bad Company 2, the levels and that could chew up substantially more RAM...Crysis 2 from my understanding is a console port...

Also IIRC windows gobbles up an amount of system ram equivalent to your GPU's VRAM, your 5830 has less VRAM than my GTX570 most likely..That could be a reason why

I'll have to get Crysis 1 then and see what it does. As for our video cards, they essentially have the same amount of RAM on board.....1GB each.

About 5-6 years of history...

Plus, the majority of folks participating over there are neighbors in the pacific northwest or actual flesh & blood friends.

More actual real-life friends (who met on the thread) than PNW denizens. There are only 4-5 of us who are from the Portland area.

What cant you do with your current camera?

You have learned well, grasshopper.

Seriously - that's the question. Do you need the extra AF points? The fps? You need to look at what you're doing and decide where your gear is falling short of your expectations. Then see about fixing that gap, which may not mean a new body. Could be a lens, tripod, flash, filters . . .

Nifty Fifty is the 50 f/1.8, because it's surprisingly good optics for the price.

The nifty fifty is the 50 1.8 not the 50 1.4 from canon.

Now which one is better? The canon 50 1.4 or the sigma 50 1.4? Ive used both and i prefer the Sigma version over the canon. Not to say the canon version is inferior but i love the bokeh from the sigma. Thats purely a personal preference. Only way to find out which one you would like is to test them both out :D My opinion though is the Sigma over the Canon.

I try Jon  Glass and Flash has made the biggest improvements in my shots. Not the body although it does help for specific applications.
