Looks like I missed everyone tonight :(

Oh well, just got in from a fun night down at the waterfront. Super warm tonight for April. Was outside for three hours in just shorts and a t-shirt. Being high on sugar makes for an interesting night :D

hey.. except for Julian anybody of you use square filters?

I do sometimes, but I'm just using the Cokin GND filters. Not the best, but they do in a pinch. Depending on what I have left over from purchasing my new gear, I might start purchasing some Lee filters and the holder.

Ah, well, you and I are, I believe, in the same "working" time zone (as is Jay) so since it's only 11 pm and nowhere's close to 2am I'd say you are flaking out:)!

yeah... that sissy guy

I asked coz I just found out yesterday that my filters were scratched :( I don;'t have a pouch for them and its very very cumbersome to hand hold both... I need a holder...and I know Julian will say get the Lee holder :D I like it but just in case you can recommend something else

Heh! I don't know where Jay is, but he is often up at least as late as I am, but Nick obviously flaked out:)!

I've never heard of pouches specifically for GND filters (round or square). I think my square ones are just sitting in a bag. But there are plenty general-purpose bags/pouches out there.

I keep my filters in a hard plastic container that is devided (it was designed for this). I beleive there are pouches that you can get. I think they are similar to mem. card pouches, only bigger (can't remember).

As for the other issue Steven.....Buy a holder for your filters. Honestly, I would indeed recomend the Lee filter holder and then perhaps buy a few filters to go with it. They don't have to be Lee filters, just filters that will fit in the holder. Who know's, the few you have right now may well fit in it.

yeap I think Lee it is

as for filters I might get some Hitech (like my ND1.2)... and the Lee Big stopper and Reverse GND and CPL :D

but as I told Julian these filters would easily cost me $600 :cry:

Steven, this is what I was talking about. There are a number of different styles and sizes, as well as soft walled and hard walled. And yes, the're are cheaper ones, this is just shown as an example.

LOL.....Dangit! You beat me to it Steven!

As for the filter cost, they're not overly cheap here either. When I eventually buy the Lee holder and filters, I'm probably looking at $400 -- $500 easy. Still, I'm willing to spend the money when I have it. :)

So no one has experience with the 70-200 F4? :(

Nick if your going for F/4 version get the IS one. It's tack sharp wide open and IS mode 2 will come in handy for panning shots.
