The Grand Canyon was full of low clouds when I got there.

But it did clear up.

And of course Horseshoe Bend. The wind was blowing very hard near the edge about 40-50 mph in gusts. Many people were holding tight to the ground.

Still have a lot of places to visit before I head home. I will do a more complete PP when I get home to my main system.

Looks like you're hitting all the highlights. In all the times I've been to Sedona, never heard of Devils Bridge. Really like the shot of Horseshoe Bend shot.

Looks like you didn't go wide enough on the Horseshoe...24mm on a full frame really cuts off quite a bit of the canyon. If you're still in the area, try it again, but this time go as wide as you can (for reference, 17mm on a full frame is adequate so if you shoot with a crop, use an equivalent lens)...and try to bring in some of the sky.

I may try Horseshoe again on Sunday. I do have my 12-24mm Sigma with me and I'll try that one. Of course it all depends on the weather. I think the forecast is ok for Sunday. I'm going to Caolmine Canyon in the morning and may stop at the bend on the way back to Page.

Coal Mine Canyon is hard to find, with many roads veering off to nowhere. Just drive straight to the windmill with the stock tank. Just behind it is a pull off with a concrete picnic table. Park there and you can see it. You are supposed to have a permit, which can be purchased at the Navajo Parks Dept, in Cameron. Not many get one, and I don't know if anyone even checks.

Nice shots of the Grand Canyon.Just got home from My trip this afternoon. When did you get those shots. I was there yesterday and all I got was snow and fog. Stayed the night in Williams but woke up to two feet of snow and the Park was closed. Hope I have better luck next time. Every place I hit except Zion on Monday was wind and rain and clouds. Kind of a wasted trip.

Nice pictures, glad you had some good photo ops with all the crazy weather around. I drove out from my house to Horseshoe Bend on Saturday. The weather was wild from near white outs in Zion to 47 degrees in Page and back to snow in Zion. We did go to the Toadstools and HB, though.

I hope I don't exceed my limit on image posting in this thread. But here are a couple from Coalmine Canyon.

Shooting Horseshoe really wide makes a big difference...

Coalmine Canyon bears somewhat of a resemblance to Bryce Canyon.

Yes the first time I saw some photos of Coalmine Canyon I thought it was Bryce. I will be able compare in a few days if weather allows.

Very nice shots...and looks like your having fun. Just from my own experience coming from the East coast, it's like having a religious experience. Continue to enjoy the trip.
