So i purchased a flash (yn465) on ebay where the seller shipped from hong kong. The flash did not work so I contacted the seller directly and they said to ship it back and they will exchange it. I asked if they would pay for the shipping (about 14) and they didnt respond for a couple of days...so I decided what the heck and opened a dispute. The seller responded promptly (within minutes) and said he would offer a partial refund for shipping costs and would then replace the flash. I accepted the offer and am now waiting on the second one....hopefully this one works! I guess the moral of this story is that if all else fails open a dispute and some people will actually be scared enough to do the right thing.

I had a simlar experience when I bought a 460II from YN direct. Ended up paying the shipping back to China and waited nearly 8 weeks for a replacement to arrive, but only after I sent several emails to check the status of the return. This experience has soured me on YN and the QA of their flash products. I would go the Amazon route if I ever want to try their products in the future.

Just so you know, you can buy Yongnuo at Amazon these days. Third party seller, but order fulfilled by amazon (hence qualify for Prime free 2-day shipping)

I only see it from one seller on amazon and that is New Harbor.
