hey guys. I have 600rx.
I just bought 8 1/2 reflector with holder and gel. when I use the chimera softbox, there's no way to put the holder and gel. if there is they will be too close to the bulb.

how do you change the color of your lights when using a softbox/dish/softlighter? sunset shot or effect

thank you in advance

There is no way to use reflectors, accessory holders and standard gels within a lightbox.

Most people use something like Gel-Jawz or gaffers tape and attach a gel sheet to the spokes inside the lightbox. With smaller lightboxes you can cut the gel sheets to fit the front of the box and can be attached with velcro or clipped on to the leading edge of the box.

Rob I wonder if you could punch a small hole in the gel and use something like the deflector rods to mount the gel if that makes any since. Just a thought

Hi Mark,

There are many ways to rig it but using the central umbrella shaft will only hold and control the center of the gel. You'd still have to attach it to the spokes or fold the corners down like a parachute and attach it to the speed ring. IN actuality, if you do fold it 'a la parachute style' then the center bows out naturally and a support wouldn't be necessary.

Think that is not an option when using large softboxes like 53" etc

Covering the entire front of the softbox? :O Where do you find the gels so big? I could only find 22x24" sheets at Calumet.

Lee and rosco sell gels in full rolls. AC-ET and a few other places in the UK stock them.
