will my receipt/proof of purchase be enough to guarentee my t2i warranty?

I bought my t2i kit at a local store and can retrieve my receipt from them, but will this constitute as a true proof of purchase? I can't find my warranty and I'm wondering if the receipt will guarantee me for the rest of the 1 year manufacture warranty should there be a problem.

Actually the warranty card without a receipt has zero value. It's the receipt that is important. You're fine.

A little late now but make sure the "local" store is an authorized Canon reseller. I have read of them not honoring the receipt from a shop that is not on the "elite" authorized resellers list. The Canon site does have a list of the authorized stores we can access.

i actually brought my t2i into canon service (NJ) before my year was up but forgot my receipt, as did the next guy after me with a 7d. they took both of ours, though he did looks some stuff up on the computer.
