Ok its over and I have picked the winner. Drum roll please.

And winner is

FLO....

Ok heres my thoughts on the winning image.

Actually Gail this is one of my favorite images I've seen of yours. Really love to see an image that pushes beyond the obvious. There is a lot going on here.

I'll start with obvious. Its well exposed and the color part works extremely well with the theme. Now, for whats not so obvious.

The image reminds me a little of a Friedlalnder in the way the artist has herself in the image. In a lot of Lee's work you see some of the artist either in shadow form or in the reflection of a window like in this image.

This image also adresses what we as a society view as hot, desirable or sexy. I think it also illustrates how plastic and unreal our societies image of that is. The balloons seem to further show a celebration of that idea of the so called perfect which a mannequin can be. But, of course, that image is not real. And then theres the other world the real world in the reflection which is also the world the photographer and the majority of society lives in.

Great job gail and in my opinion this type of work is the direction I feel you as an artist should be moving in. Something that speaks more than just the obvious because it is more than the obvious that is in most great photographs.

Good job everyone but Gail really knocked it outta the park this week.

Yay gail... loved your entry this week :)

I will respectfully be bowing out for about 3 weeks. Daughter getting married next week in Hawaii, then off to NYC for a mini-vacation without family... just Skip and I. I will peek in but no time to participate.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

I felt that I did not let the photo speak for itself by posting my "CD cover" edit I had done for photo 11 a few years ago. I should have just posted the regular edit instead.

No worries.

Canucks look they were to busy being Canuckleheads last night :-)

Not a bad thing realy! What a lopsided playoffs anyway... you play nobody ranked higher than 5th all the way to the western finals.
