Would there be a need for this software in addition to LR3?

Great timing. I had the 30 day trial and was about to order from Adobe. I just ordered mine from Amazon. Good looking out.

I wouldn't give up CS5 for LR3 and vice versa.

For me, yes. I don't care too much for LR3 cloning tool so I can go the PSE for that, plus some other things. And at $39, it won't break the bank. I don't need all the things that CS5 offers, at least not as of now.

Since LR does offer the ability to work with Layers, then I would say 'yes'. There are so many things that can be done with layer masks than you just can not do without. Well, you could to some degree but you would lose the control that you get from using layers. When you apply an adjustment via a layer, you have the ability to go back later and edit that one adjustment. This is not an option when you are using a brush tool to apply adjustments. Once you make so many adjustments, if you want to change one from 10 steps back that means you lose the other 9 steps as well. Not with layers. I have seen people use more than 20 layers on a single image to get it just perfect.

Just curious, how did you get Amazon to price match it?

I didn't. Amazon will price match competitor's sales/promo on their own. I believe they keep an eye out for them.

You can always start a chat/call with a CSR and ask if you see a sales/promo on your own and if they'll price match, however. Chances are they'll do it on a case by case basis.

The price is up to $88 dollars now at Amazon and $95 at Buy.com. Glad I ordered last night.

Was able to order it this morning for 59.99 - 20.00 rebate. Smokin deal! Was getting ready to buy for 79, then dragged my feet hoping for 59 again, now 39!
I tried to figure out the rebate thing by clicking on the link to print, but it is just a sample copy. Will the real RB form come with the delivery?

There is a "watermark" on the sample pdf (on Amazon) which states: This pdf is for reference. All submissions require the original coupon located inside the product box.
