Just got some prints from Adorama, 20x,30, 16-24, and 12x18. They had their sale (25% off lustre prints). they are landscape images for a gallery show, and they are soooo awesome. I usually print at costco, and the paper is thin, and prints do not compare is vibrance of the colors. Cant recommend them highly enough.

I have to admit, I am a bargain hunter, and usually only order from them when they have some sort of a sale, which they do have from time to time. I order a large framed panoramic print from them 9 months ago, when they had a 25% off coupon, and have been waiting and waiting for the coupon to come back (Hint hint Helen). I have also bought directly from them as well as their ebay store when the bing cash back was going on, all very satisfied.

I didn't even realize they did prints.

What is the difference between Lustre, Matte and Glossy?

Is lustre like..an in-between?

yeah, I think lustre is the in between. They do prints, and prices are reasonable for a pro lab.

I had a large print done there awhile back, and I too can attest... it came out great. Definitely better than Costco or Walmart, for sure. Not even in the same league, in my opinion.

Our Lustre paper has a slight sheen to it, not as much as the Metallic or Glossy, but it's a good all around paper, a very fine surface texture and closest to "semi-gloss."
The Supra Matt(TM) offers nice rich blacks and good detail with no texture to the finish - it depends on your subject matter, and personal preference.

Lustre, Matt and Glossy all offer soft, smooth, realistic flesh-tone reproduction, intense blacks, enhanced detail from highlights to shadows and are all suitable for most subjects from weddings to portraiture to sport.

We also have Metallic which will give unique, very rich, vibrant colors, distinctive metallic look that catches the eye. Great for weddings, portraiture, sport, fashion, commercial.

Finally, there is a True Black & White with a Matte Finish, specifically designed for making continuous-tone B&W prints with excellent tone reproduction and neutral tonal characteristics.

I've not done any printing until recently with any of my photos, I did a test print direct from Kodak using metallic but was disappointed with the limited range of sizes they had available. Looking at Adorama, I think I'll be using them for my next print, MUCH nicer range of sizes for the prints. :D

Helen, while you are at it with the explanation, could you please tell us about the different matting options (foam, mat, ) and what they mean? the foam is self explanatory, but the rest I am not sure about.

We have three mounting options,

The thinnest is a single weight board which is the most cost effective.

Next would be the foam core.

Then the styrene, which is plastic.
