It is usually said that the "Third Time's the Charm"..... In my case, it was the second time.
Took a trip up to the Texas Hill Country again and came back with this after my first semi-failed attempt 6 months ago.

That looks pretty good for a second attempt. Was it a stack of photos or windy? There is something fishy about the tree.

The sky looks great. Not sure about the tree though, because of the wind. I like the railing though, that's pretty different and creates a nice frame.

Probably one of the strongest arguments for intelligent life is that they haven't visited us :D

If they do, they will come in peace. Always.

Sorry, thought I had that info posted already.....

CAMERA: Canon 5D Mark II
LENS: Canon EF 24-70L f/2.8 Lens
FORMAT: Small JPG
WHITE BALANCE: Tungsten
ISO: 3200
SHUTTER: 30 seconds
APERTURE: f/2.8
TRIPOD: Manfrotto Neo Tec (National Geographic Special Edition Model) Tripod with a 488RC4 Ball Head
MEDIA: 4GB Sandisk Extreme IV CF Card
TIME: Started first exposure around 1am and ended around 6:30am using a Canon TC80N3 Timer Remote Control set to shoot an image once a minute.....
EXPOSURES: 269 Single Exposures that will eventually be put into a Slide Show to be used as a Time Lapse Video.....
ACCESSORIES: 3 - 10lb. sandbags on each leg of the tripod. 6 hand warmers rubberbanded around the lens and camera to prevent dew throughout the night and early morning.....

This particular image is just a single exposure from one of the 300 images that were taken throughout the night. I bumped up the contrast and color a little bit to fully enhance the clarity of the image. I've heard of taken some lights or darks or blanks or whatever it's called, but I don't know what that is. What I wanted to initially do was to do a series of images and put them into a Time Lapse Video similar to this..... (external link) Give me some time and I'll eventually make it happen. Thanks for all of your comments..... It's much appreciated!

Hi All,
I've had a little time on my hands this Easter Weekend, so I decided to put together a "Quick & Crude" time lapse video as promised.....
Make sure to view it in FULL SCREEN and either 720p or 1080p HD

Looks great, Mark! What kind of timeframe and how many shots did those require? I've often though of doing something similar. Makes you work a bit more dynamic, for sure!
