Went for a stroll in a small patch of woods near home and crossed paths with this doe and two little ones (didn't see them until she had enough of me and moved on). I was unprepared but managed to snap a few shots ...

Thank you all for your nice comments.

Yes, she was staring at me pretty hard ... I don't think she knew quite what to make of me. From the moment she came into the open I had my camera up to my eye so she never got a good look at my face. She stared, sniffed, stomped ... tried the old "I'm gonna pretend to eat and then lift my head up really fast" trick ... paced back and forth ... then stared some more. They trust their nose mostly, and I was downwind so she only had visual information ... and I wasn't moving. At 25 yards the shutter sound didn't seem to bother her at all. It was an exciting couple of minutes!
