It was night but well-lit RFK stadium in DC.

I know Beckham is past his prime but he covered the entire field for 78 straight minutes and perfectly placed a ball on Mike McGee's head for the only run-of-play goal during the entire game.

I wish I had held the trigger down on this, instead I wanted just one perfectly time photo. It's not a great shot but it's probably the best I'll ever get of Beckham.

40D, 70-200mm f/4L IS, 1600 ISO at about 100 yards away.

Taken with a Canon P&S at maximum non-optical zoom, model I can't remember, at an exhibition game in Edmonton in 2008. Note real men do not cover up when facing an opposing free kick.
