I deleted the FM members username, he is now just "e" but I'm in the market for a plm from Paul C Buff, I found one asked a few questiosn, decdided the price seemed unreasonable to me and wish the seller "GLWS" I was not mad, just felt his price was unfair. I guess he got offended. Did I do something wrong by asking questions, than telling him that the price seemed unreasonable but GLWS... ???????????

Is the plm v2?

Does it come with originals items?

From: e
To: alwayslepy

Yes its v2 and yes it comes with everything as it does
New and Pcf speedring

Why is it 30 dollars more than the website?

From: e
To: alwayslepy

for one this item has been out of stock for 6 months and most likely will be for atleast 4 more months. I bought it at $10 more then I'm selling and just cutting my losses as I have them and only need one.

To: alwayslepy

Doesnt sound reasonable to me, but to all its own. GLWS

From: e

all of the ones on the forum have gone higher it's more then reasonable. and please don't waste my time by stating opinions of ill informed statements. take care

From: e
To: alwayslepy

I wasted a whole 30 secs of your life to read 6 words? What statement? You mean my opinion? Thats laughable. Good day.

From: e
To: alwayslepy

it's a matter of wasting ones time as most of us here on Fm respect peoples time if one isn't going to buy the only thing laughable is your opinions of equipment and worth you know nothing about also please go lookup the definition of the word statement before you try to imply anything. good day

My last reponse:

I was serious about purchasing the item, but did not understand why it was so high, so I asked. in your response you never mentioned that the going price has been around $100 dollars. My response that ended with GLWS was never intended to offend you, I meant what I said, "It doesnt make sense to me, but you have every right to sell for what you believe you should get for it, its not worth 30 dollars over retail to me, GLWS the sale" I dont know about you, but I like to know what I am paying for so I ask questions, if the deal doesnt seem good I wont buy. Just because I inquiry about something i have to buy it? Or are you under the impression that I like asking questions just to waste your time and my time?

Perhaps it was because your initial question had nothing to do about price, but whether it was v2 or not. Seems to me that if the price was a factor, that would have been your first question.

I'd be annoyed too if I were the seller.

I think you have the right to ask any questions you want, and if you are not satisfied with the answer, you can walk away. After all, you are the buyer....

Couple things..

They're in stock
They are $75 + 10 shipping to U.S. = $85 + fees. So it's not a $30 difference
Did you expect him to ship to S. Korea for the $100 shipped?
Does PCB even ship to S. Korea? If not.. You can expect to pay A LOT more than $100.

I was in a rush and didn't honestly didnt notice the price difference. Btw the seller and I concluded it was a misunderstand of words said, so no more issue. Just curious to proper ediqutte when buying/selling.

There is nothing wrong with asking about the item, but if the price is too high, I usually just say,
thank you & GLWS.

IMO, proper etiquette would be not to get into an argument about price. If an item is actually being offered here for $30 more than you would pay on some other web site, then buy it on the other web site. Asking a seller why his item is overpriced is being confrontational and isn't necessary. If it's overpriced, it probably won't sell.

i think there is some error on both sides, as a seller i would not get into an argument of defending my price either i live with it or not. as a buyer i would not ask why it's more then XXX, yes maybe you were legitimately asking because you didn't know, but if the price seems high, just ask if they'll take a lower price (with no qualification), if they say no then GLWS and move on.

i think he was overly sensitive, but i also think you pushed the curiosity factor. the "doesn't sound reasonable to me" comment sounds snarky.

Hmm, the last two points were very intuitive. Thank you.

Was the price in the listing? If so and you thought it was unreasonable why go back and forth with him via email? I don't waste my time with sellers starting off with a price I feel is unreasonable. It's a waste of both party's time.

Sounds to me like the seller got a little upset and therefore probably wasn't comfortable himself for asking the price he was asking. Just my opionion.

Yeah, I think that was the core of the issue Quizzical. I think the way I ask about the price was taken the wrong way, instead I should of offered what I would of been willing to pay so that he could 1) accept or 2) say no and from there I could ask why it was priced that way.

You didn't respond to my question, was the price in the FS listing?

The seller probably thought you were deliberately engaging him in order to challenge his price without ever having the intention of buying.

He wasn't nice but remember that while he is the only person you are talking to, he is probably simultaneously dealing with other potential buyers, at least one of whom could have been a real member of the self-elected internet price police.

That's a possibility--I've had those sort pop up with past ebay listings--but they usually just come out and say "har har, your price sucks, you should lower it". The OP was doing fine up to the point where he said the sellers price was unreasonable. Sometimes the tone matters more than the intent.
