M, you make everybody look so good, great set again

thats the goal! :)

i have only been taking photography seriously for 3 months or so....

- so i'm finding this project to be great practice for when the 'real' shoots come. i'm learning a lot about poses, using natural light, composition, facial expressions, PP to imporve complexion without making them look like plastic, ect...

the past 3 months has been a huge learning curve, but good fun too :)

Gotta love the 135L's "background melt" feature.

In photography years, IS has not been around that long. Actually I think the first IS lens was the 75-300 in 1995 and it wasn't until 2001 when Canon introduced it on the 70-200 f/2.8. Trust me there were sharp photos before IS. The sharpness is coming from his optics, steady hands and decent shutter speed.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

I've left you a lot of feedback on flickr, but I just wanted to say here as well that this project is really inspiring and is brimming with really quality work; definitely one to be proud of. I'm considering doing a faces project with my new camera, though I've been handing out cards for ages and lining up shoots to do with people in studio. I'm very excited about it.
Anyway, Matt, keep up the great work!

1. Shooting wide open in the lighting conditions I'm in, even at ISO 100 I'm at shutter speeds of around 1600 and up - so steady hands along with very fast shutter speeds yields clear images.

2. The 135L is just a very sharp lens overall - some say Canon's sharpest.

3. I do sharpening and some mild high pass filters to achieve the look I want. I like my images to really 'pop'.

I'm gald you like my style of PP. I'm finally feeling like I've found 'my own' style of PP.

I would love to see your studio work of other people. Gotta share some of your other work aside from your self portraits. I'm dying to see it! No doubt amazing stuff.

To all: Thanks for all the positive comments again guys. :)

For some reason, I don't like this set as much as the previous ones you've posted. I can't put my finger on why though. Regardless, I look forward to your next set! It's always fun looking at these.
