YN460ii Works for All Canons?

I am seriously confused at the moment. I am looking for two flashes. I'm mainly going to use them off camera but I want them to work on-camera as well. All is well until I get to this stage. Ebay seems to be the cheapest to buy these flashes but it is all very confusing. You see there is many items listed with the YN460ii flash but they state they only work with certain cameras.

Is this the case? I'm hoping to upgrade to a 60d from a 1000d soon and this seems like it will be a waste of money if its not going to work with my 60d. Anyone know about this? Would be really appreciated.

the Yongnuo YN460 is a manual flash, it will work on the 60D. But if this is your only flash consider getting an ETTL flash that also has manual controls, e.g. YN465, YN467, YN468, etc. Cost a little more - but more useful!

I'm not worried about if it works with just my 60d, I'm confused because I want it to work with my 1000d and 60d when I get it. Many listings on ebay state that they work with different canon cameras but don't say they work on all of the canon range. I'm only just starting to get into flash photography, so I think it will be better to learn manual. And considering I'm young and don't have a job. They are reasonable on my wallet.

yes, a manual flash like the YN460 will work on both models and it's good to learn using a manual flash but an ETTL flash with manual controls is only $65. Worth saving a little more for the flexibility !

The TTL is nice ie the 465,67,68 but I can tell you for sure that the 460ii works fine with the 1000D. In fact I have 2. for the price of the 467 you can get 2 460ii's for doing off camera, which is what I did. But for on camera look at something like the 467.

Everyone is right. Manual flashes like the 460ii won't matter, its the TTL flashes you have to make sure are brand specific (Canon, Nikon, etc).

If I get 1 TTL flash will it work for all the canon range or only certain cameras. This is what is confusing.
