I'm gonna be getting a 40D in the near future.

Let me know what you love about yours. So I can just look forward to it even more and take advantage of it fully.

The AF system on the 40D is pretty good. Way better than my friend's 5Dc. If you are coming from a Rebel, you will really appreciate the wheel in the back and also the solid feel of the magnesium-alloy body. Also, although it may only be my preference, I really like the feel of the shutter; it is not too light, but not really loud like a 5d or 1d. Plus, using a cropped body, you can use the Sigma 30mm!

Also, I know a friend that got vomit all over his 40D, and then just washed it off with a wet toothbrush, and still works fine :D.

ewwwwww, vomit??

+1 on the AF system, it really is faster than my 5D.
Which is one reason I almost decided to keep it, but the lens bug bit me. ha.
Its way more substantial than my XSi was, so if you have weaker hands/wrists you might rethink it.
But, it was totally worth it in my case, LOVE mine, even tho its for sale lol
I think you'll love it!

Your camera is in amazing condition. I'd probably buy it off you when I got the money but I live in the UK.

And you'll probably have sold it by the time I have the money for it :)

My 40D sits in my camera bag as a backup, waiting to be used if my main camera fails. It does that very well.

Coming from a 20d...

The spot meter and the af system. All 9 points are cross type and at f2.8 or faster, the center is even more sensitive.

I asked for what people love about their 40D's.

You don't have to love it, but I don't care, I didn't ask for you to tell me what you don't like or insinuate that you didn't like it.

It could also mean that it was so good that only a 1d series could best it :D

If your upgrading from a Rebel its great... But sadly i find you grow out of it quickly...
Either way tho you'll find its a nice camera. I've bought 2 of them, and it was a nice little body. Just find once you go to a 1D trying to go down ever again is hard.
I've gotten some great shots with the little guy tho, so make sure to make the use out of it.

in my opinion minus the video. i think my 40d performs just as good as the 50 and 60d in iq and everything. yea its a few years old but still holds its own. id buy a ff camera if i could afford it but my 40d keeps me happy.

My 40D is a keeper, regardless of my next camera purchase.
I bought it from the first batch that came to Canada and it's working flawlessly ever since..
Great little camera overall, that's all I can say!

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

I love the fact that my 40D is there to back up my 50D (much improved, BTW). The 40D is a nice camera.
