Darn. I'd like to save $$$ on my monolight, but waiting until October is not worth it.
It's especially hard because I live in the Chicagoland area and could go pick things up at the store directly. :(

I think I'm going to go with the AB800 w/ 64" silver reflective PLM as my first real strobe, but everyone must love theirs cuz I don't see many for sale on the used forum. I'll probably have to buy the vaga mini lithium new since it's brand new to the market.

You probably won't save much on them used anyway; people sell them for as much as they bought them originally online. That combo will put you over $450, and you may have to wait a bit for the mini...

yeah, ur right. I think I'll bite very soon.
I was toying with the idea of getting an einstein, but I think I'll get the ab800 first, and if I really feel like I need the huge range the einsteins offer, I can always upgrade.

Thanks anlenke!

Sure thing! I didn't realize you were just in Chicago...I'm in Madison, and come down to Chicago fairly frequently, if you ever want to shoot let me know! :)

yeah I just took a look at your flickr and saw some shots of chicago!
I don't go to madison often, but I LOVE it there! The art museum, public market (fish burger is AMAZING), and Alterra coffee.

For sure! That would be a great opportunity! I'm in the process of lining up a few models throughout the summer I can shoot. It'd be great if it was a joint effort!
