The film "Thor" is coming out soon. I, for one, would really like to see it. I'm really into those comic movies. I spent some time reading up on the Norse mythology. You know, Thor, Odin, Loki, Freyda, those guys and gals. In that cursory research, I also found some data that I didn't know before. Here's a list of interesting tidbits.

  • Asgard is the capitol of the gods. There is, however, Asgardai'i, a small island off of Maui. I mean, after a few millennia above the Arctic Circle, the gods wanted to blow off some stress steam in the tropics, you know?
  • Kilki: Norse god of various syrups used in coffees and ices.
  • Odeffeson: The god with the job of making sure Odin takes his meds, cleans his eyepatch and fetches his Ensure during the evening.
  • Fandyrre: Goddess of nice wines.
  • Clem: God of cheap, canned beer.
  • Asgardington: Small fishing village in Southern Oregon used by the Norse gods for little getaways.
  • As'gardens: A big astral mall where the goddesses go when the man gods are goofin' off in Asgardington.
  • Wonki: Very serious god of breaded fish. Hey, that's a big thing up there in Norseland.
  • Gretylsen: Goddess of fruit pies. Not rhubarb, but strawberry, blueberry, apple, stuff like that.
  • Grytelsen: Goddess of icky fruit pies. Stuff that you probably don't want to eat. In a crust. She didn't get invited to parties much.
  • Olaffasongretylfredyrrsen: Norse god of incomprehensible Nordic names.
  • Yrral: god of dyslexics.

I tend to ramble. Feel free to put me on ignore.

Galloping across the plain, the mighty god Thor cried out, "I'm Thor, I'm Thor!"

His horse turned his head and replied...."You forgot the thaddle thilly!"

Well, technically rhubarb is not a fruit, so I will still pick Gretylsen as my fav.
