Lonnie, in this months PCWorld they compare tablets and come to the conclusion that despite liking android a lot, the apple os is better and the ipad remains the top tablet.
One of their issues is that there are hundreds of thousands of apps optimized for the ipad and only hundreds for the android. Have you had any issues?
I've had no issues at all. As for apps, the number of apps available doesn't mean anything. It's the quality that's important. One useful app beats a couple hundred crappy, useless ones in my opinion...
I've been able to find all of the apps I can possibly think I'd want or need on the Android platform with no problem. I have two Microsoft Office compatible bundles (Documents to Go and Polaris Office), a handful of web browsers (Firefox is my favorite because it syncs all of my bookmarks/history/passwords/etc with my desktop PC), four or five e-book readers, Google Earth, Google Maps, a GPS Track log saver thingee, a ton of games (including all three Angry Birds -- soon to be four, a couple very impressive pinball games, etc), plus a bunch of other stuff. All of that and I still have about 12 of the built-in 16Gb free. And, I also have a Photoshop on it -- well... It's basic and a long way from being the full version we all know and love, but Adobe actually does have a (free!) version of Photoshop available as an Android app...
I also have all of my photos (edited versions) and some movies and home video on the 16Gb microSD card that I keep in the slot on the Transformer itself. And, I keep an 8Gb full-sized SD card on the keyboard dock's slot. I've also tested my thumb drives in the two USB slots on the keyboard dock, and it reads 'em just fine. I still haven't tested out the blue-tooth capability, but I plan to get a bluetooth mouse to use when the tablet is on the dock, because that would be more convenient than using the pad on the keyboard.
No, I can't think of any reason why the iPad is all that much better (or worse, for that matter) than the Transformer. They both serve their purpose equally well as far as I'm concerned.

That was a big want for my netbook. I can run an external wireless mouse with it, connect an EHD, and connect a card reader. All things I wanted the netbook for. It has been wonderful by the way. All I need for travling. A bit small for using lightroom on but it will work if pressed to get something done.
