Stopping in real quick before bed. (I should have been in bed hours ago)

My Grandma died this morning. :( She'd been suffering with Alzheimer's for several years, and as hard as it is to let her go, we are thankful that she's finally freed from the ravages of that horrendous disease.

2 of our H.A.R.T. dogs died today as well.
Cookie, our little black poodle who had suffered terrible abuse.
And Nani, our old chocolate lab with cancer who had just been hanging on for the last few months.

It's been a rough day, and I'm not sure I can cry anymore.

I head to Colorado tomorrow morning to be with Grandpa for a few days.
I don't know if he's got internet or not. I'm taking my laptop just in case.
I'll check in when I can.

Love and hugs,
Cat

Sorry to hear about all that Cat. Hang in there - we'll say a prayer for you.

Tim

My cousin Harry (Jennings) has recently returned from Afghanistan so to unwind he and some of his army buddies have headed off to Nevada and California to unwind and have some quiet R&R.

There is a video of what they got up to which some of you may find fun.

Hi All. :D

Watching Boston kick Vancouver's butt in the final game of the Stanley Cup, 3-0 after 2. Not looking good for the Canucks, but to be honest, the Bruins have way outplayed them this series.

CAT, so sorry to hear of grandmother, and the two pups. Big Bear Hugs headed your way through the airwaves.

Is it bad that I keep clicking on my local news icon to see if Weiner has resigned yet?

No, he should, but it is kinda funny to note how the media reacted when certain presidents were playing with cigars and other politicians were having homosexual call boys, the talk of one side was "it's their personal business and should not be judged or talked about". Not being political just pointing out the consistent double standard the in the media.

Crissa! The party is fine, most everyone speaks English as well as Turkish which makes it easier. I ended up the photographer for the day which also helps by giving me something to do. The food is over the top outrageously good. Everyone brought a BIG dish of something.

The mood has soured though as results come in. I know very little of the politics here, and we shouldn't go into it on the forum, but people are not happy with the results. The news is in Turkish but I will get more info later. I suspect the more conservative Islamist party has done better than expected by the party goers here.

Sounds like a great trip and fun party!

Darn cat... I"m so sorry for all the losses... (((((((HUGS)))))))

Been AWOL for a few days... a trip out of town... and I've been lost... lost in boxes and cleaning and furniture assembly! This was Alex's year to get a new bed (Sean got one last year). Because of job issues I had told Alex that I'd have to limit my spending... I found a great bed that Alex got excited about and a neat chest of drawers for him and spent half of what I spent on Sean's set up last year! So I am PLEASED...

My boys are with their dad until Monday morning :( But what that has meant for me... is that I have had the time to get into their rooms and sort through their stuff getting rid of broken and rarely used things! WOOT! It's created oodles of laundry (which I am fairly certain was all clean  ) But the end result is two VERY clean rooms... several bags for charity.... several more bags for the garbage!

Tomorrow... I'm having a massage, manicure and pedicure...

Friday... I HAVE AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not exactly what I want but is much better than some of the alternatives... So I am thankful!

After the interview I'm hitting the road again for a weekend away... home for a cook out with my dad Sunday evening.

ZANE thanks for quoting Crissa's link, I'm listening now. Very nice. Then I shall let my phobias go rampant and watch Neil's video.

And Kimchi is a Korean dish, fermented they say, I say more like rotten, vegetables mainly cabbage. If I recall it is mixed up in clay pots and the pots buried during the fermentation.

Harm, quick, run into the streets and take pictures! I figure their is a party going on in Boston tonight.

From the news this morning it sounded like it was Vancouver that had the not so nice party. I don't get it and one of the reasons I'm glad I've never been swept up by sports.

JENN good luck at the interview.

During our walk this morning not only did I see a deer go behind a neighbor's house, but when she came out from the other side a fawn came with her. My day is made.:D

My watch has stopped, as in nothing, nadda, no display at all. Does that mean I don't have to go to work, since it won't be 8:00 until I get a new battery?

To be honest, half the time I don't think he knows I'm there unless I have to go to his office. He would notice stuff not getting done before he noticed I wasn't there. He may get a clue if he went a day or two without emails from me, however.
