And Kimchi is a Korean dish, fermented they say, I say more like rotten, vegetables mainly cabbage. If I recall it is mixed up in clay pots and the pots buried during the fermentation.

During our walk this morning not only did I see a deer go behind a neighbor's house, but when she came out from the other side a fawn came with her. My day is made.:D

Holy spicy rotten yum ;)

This morning Leyla had a fox chase a squirrel right up the stumps of a dead tree that is about 15 feet from our sliding back doors. Zoë barked, it stopped, looked at them, and pranced back to the woods. She was thrilled to see it.

My watch has stopped, as in nothing, nadda, no display at all. Does that mean I don't have to go to work, since it won't be 8:00 until I get a new battery?

Leyla is telling everyone at work today she is 7 hours ahead and almost done with her day lol.

To be honest, half the time I don't think he knows I'm there unless I have to go to his office. He would notice stuff not getting done before he noticed I wasn't there. He may get a clue if he went a day or two without emails from me, however.

Lol, I say they should let you work from home. You are responsible, don't goof off unless your work is done, and always get your job done. Leyla works at a few different offices and as long as work gets done she can often just come here and work if there are no meetings planned. Even then she conferences by phone sometimes.. She has access to the company server and as long as emails and work keeps streaming out no one notices or asks where she is.

Harm, quick, run into the streets and take pictures! I figure their is a party going on in Boston tonight.

It was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of a mob scene last night. Thank goodness Boston won, otherwise the riots here would have been worse!! The police did a fantastic job to cordon off areas - TD Garden and streets were shut, the bars were open, cops made a huge line.

When they wanted people to "go home", you had line after line of riot police basically slowly walk to the crowd to say "enough, clear the streets, go home".

I have my camera in today, and I will bring it again for when they have their parade :D

I wish I could, as it is my calls aren't directed correctly when the customer calls in. 1. Customer doesn't ID their salon, 2. Switchboard doesn't ask.

My boss was in before me today, this is rare, and if he was looking out his window saw when I came in...didn't say a thing...not that I was worried...they know how much extra hours I do put in either here or at home.

Oh and one of my 3 watches is working, it is a funky bright orange wide bangle type of thing. Fun but not my ususal style...I may be changing my style, though, I kind of like it.:D

My sister-in-law is much like this, the one with her Masters in Environmental Sciences. Conference calls and email allow her to work at home 50% of the time, 25% in the office, and 25% traveling and working on site. She does mostly environmental impact kinda stuff.

Oh that is funny because that is exactly Leyla's deal. She has a masters in environmental sciences and does mostly impact and compliance monitoring for large construction projects. She works for a big engineering firm and was hired, along with her boss, to help grow that side of the firm.

Pete: Happy Birthday (a day late). Sorry I missed it.

Neil: That appears to have been shot at Lake Elsinore, which is not all that far from us. It's sort of halfway between us and John/Heather.

Yesterday was something of a marathon for us. We got up at 1:00am, left the house at 3:00am, drove to Northern California (almost exactly 500 miles), took care of a couple problems, left there at 3:00pm, and drove home with only one stop for gas. With incidental side trips, we drove about 1,050 miles yesterday, and pulled into the driveway at 10:30pm.

I suppose I should be heartened to know we're still able to do that sort of thing, but we're paying for it this morning. We're both still bleary-eyed, and I'm having difficulty trying to get the curl out of my fingers. I did all the driving except for an hour on I-5 on the trip up, but Lois (to her everlasting credit) stayed awake and kept a nonstop conversation going with me which kept me from getting sleepy. In many ways, that was probably more difficulty than driving.

I think it is somewhat remarkable that after 50 years, we still enjoy talking to each other. (I'm a good listener.)

It wasn't all work and driving.....while we were there, I took an hour at my favorite train store. I am now the proud owner of a new locomotive (Southern Pacific GS-4 in Daylight colors) Lois used the same hour to visit her favorite Macy's.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

The Permapuddle house is another 400 miles beyond the Bay Area. That's just a little too far to go for a cuppa'. Maybe if they'd fill my thermos, I'd think about it.

That is really nice that you and your girl still do that kind of thing. It is very much like Leyla and I. We were talking the other day and she remarked her brother was going fishing with the guys all weekend. I know a lot of couples who seem to relish getting time to go off with their respective friends. For us all we could think is how it would suck not to share the experience. I hope when we are your age we are healthy enough and still compatible to do stuff like your road trip.
Congrats on the new train. Someday I will try to get some shots of my BIL's trains. Leyla's dad gave all the trains to him(much to Leyla's dissapointment) and they have set them up over at his house. They are all old Marklin(those are the old collectible ones right?) that were Leyla's grandad's. I believe the sections of track alone that they have are worth quite a bit. I am not sure all what there is and will probably never know because her brother will keep it from her.

:lol::lol:Normally I wouldn't mention this, Z, but because it's you, it's actually Märklin. :lol::lol:

Depending on how old it it, and what it is, it could be worth a lot of money. There are some Märklin zealots in the world who are willing to pay obscene prices for some of it.

I've noticed that in a lot of families, the trains get passed on to the one person who probably has the least appreciation of them. I have theories on that.

Hi Deb :) You are very right about how lucky I am. I have no right to complain about anything.

On a side note we are a bit concerned about Z-dots but it may be fro not. She was sick for a few days before we left, throwing up, a bit off her food. She seemed to recover and was only pukey once while we were away and that was after eating something nasty. My sis thought she looked thin and even rounded her cups a bit while she cared for her. Well when we got home we were both struck by how thin she was. Turns out she is 51 pounds down from 58 in February. She is thin. We took her in yesterday and her blood work is fine, will have poop sample results back today but other than that she is happy and active. It may be she was a bit thin to start and we did not notice then the illness and added stress of us away took a few more pounds, not sure. If the poop is clear she is probably fine short of some unseen major disease process but she does not act like she has something major. We bumped her food amount up a bit, will wait for fecal results and just hope it is nothing.
