I'm surprised they killed it instead of running it off.

Unless told not too, or taught not to attack stuff, dogs will grab and tear up little critters they think are invading.

really?
If something invades our yard, the dogs bark and jump at it etc. If the animal freezes, the dogs leave it alone. If it runs, they chase it. If it seems aggressive, Kona hides under the bed and Hale barks and growls.

I think we decided that because Yoda was in the Southern Hemisphere, all the blood had rushed to his head causing occasional bouts of irascibility.

He was a nice kid. I hope he still is**.

Try that surprise in the middle of the night, outside in your yard, in your night clothes, and you will have an idea of my night.

Actually, this wasn't Bax's first kill, there was a baby rabbit this spring that didn't take to the toss-me-like-a-sealion game. And he wants a chipmunk so bad it is actually hilarious to watch him charge out after them.

Remi it didn't suprise me, we know he was a stray and had a bit of a street life. He is missing the tip of one ear.

What did suprise me is the dogs weren't hurt in any way. When Bax grabbed it and ran off the deck, it had its full body wrapped around his muzzle.

Yep, and I think I could have called Bax off as soon as he took off out the door if it had only been him but with Remi out just as fast and not being as mindful, Husky brains, my focus was making sure Remi didn't take off out of the yard. There have been times in when we are out that I've called Bax off his prowl and even lurch by "LEAVE IT". Also works on the occassional night when the night creatures will cause him to bark.

Nope. I just use the TR Post Index I've been maintaining. Plus I've been around since the beginning.

OBTW - Lisa, I think the first Yoda and the Cowtapult is missing. I'd noted Lonnie, Yoda (Take 1), Wool, Yoda (Take 2), Tom, Yoda (Take 3), . . .

My system just reminds me when a birthday is approaching. It isn't very searchable, though... ;)

Neither's mine, but when coupled with the wetware, it works pretty good. I just need to update some of the "relist" posts to point back to where they were originally posted. And the toons that were hosted on the tupperwareranch.com site and puddlepirate.smugmug.com site are MIA unless and until Dan or Lisa repost them later.
