These guys were going at it this morning over the same box. I think the Blue Birds eventually won out. (I had to go to work) I'll check back though...

What a great chance you had to watch the battle! Let us know (through images) who won!

Nice shots! - I think some would be improved with a little PP (sharpening, etc) - if you turn on "Image Editing OK" in your profile I can maybe post an example of what I mean.

Nice shots. I also shot a swallow today but wasn't able to get close enough to capture the detail you show in the last one. Good job.

The same confrontation should begin here in about a month. Unfortunately the tree swallows often seem to be more persistent in fighting for nest boxes. Good colleciton of images. Thanks for sharing.

Here is a very quick edit, all I did was apply some sharpening to the non-sky portion of the image...maybe a bit too much, and results should be better working with the original full sized image, but hopefully you get the idea.

Thank you for the editing tips.

Don - not really sure how many boxes there are. It's a State Park on the Illinois and Wisconsin border. Miles of trails, it's really a favorite spot of mine. At least until the mosquitoes show up.

Jgrussel - I will! it was really funny to watch - both sets of birds were so interested in the box - I don't think they even noticed me.

Thanks again for all the compliments and help. Being new to this hobby, this site and the folks who make it a site, has been a tremendous help.

Ken
