Hi,

I understand that although its a great lens its supposed to be a bit soft at 300mm and wide open (like most zooms I seem to think), but do any of you good people know where the sweet spot is on this lens?

Ta.

At 300mm, f8 is slightly better than F5.6.

Those are pretty nice results for a <$500 zoom lens.

Thanks, I had a feeling f8 would be the number, and I would guess 250mm, lens wise it is pretty good, I had the 70-200 (non-IS) but wanted a bit more reach and have found the Tammy to be slightly sharper, due I expect to it having VC (Tamron's IS).

I have and still do wonder about the 100-400 but its a bit more expensive again at a bit over £1000 and I'm not too sure about the weight (although it has to be lighter than my Sigma 150-500!)
