Filter Type?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have the Tamron SP 70-300 VC Di USD and the other day when I was at the lake I could see alot of aquatic life such as fish salamanders etc in the water. Obviously when taking pictures down through the water you get reflection etc and they come out less than stellar.

I remember reading about a filter that would prevent this but I've never used filters before and don't remember which type. Is it a polarizing filter? or....?

What you need is a "circular" polarizing filter (as opposed to a "linear" polarizing filter). Both are round and look very much alike, but the "circular" type can be used without interfering with autofocus systems.

Get the absolute highest quality multicoated filter you can afford and you'll be quite satisfied with it.
