Define "need" :)

Seriously though, some do very varied shooting and can use several different lenses to cover different types of photography. But of course, some of it isn't "need", it's "want". :)

hahaha yea that's what I mean :)
I'm totally satisfied with my 24-70L but I would love to get a telephoto for street candid. Actually, I'm still deciding if I should go with the 70-200 2.8 non IS or the sigma 70-200 OS for the same price. Hmmm...

Do we need that many L lenses? =P

I own 29 lenses for three different mounts and regularly use all of them.

Well I'm not a pro so I don't need to use all of them. A few would suit my needs (:

How long have you shot DSLRs? Pro or not if you stick with it long enough you will eventually wind up with a lens accumulation too. There's much more to it than just covering the ~17-300mm range with a couple of zooms.

I've been shooting for only 2 years but I never shot anything above 85mm. I know how it is when I'll eventually catch the fever of collecting. I collected sneakers for about 3 years prior to getting this camera and I still can't believe I dropped more than a cars worth on sneakers when I could have used it on some great camera equipment (: Too bad that the majority of the money went to school and the left overs got me my 500D and the rest in my sig :(

I have my share. Thankfully they're all paid off because I only purchase gear when I have the cash on hand.

I also trade lenses a lot and I now have a lineup that serves pretty much every need for me.

My 6:
24 f/1.4L II
50 f/1.2L
135 f/2L
16-35 f/2.8L
24-70 f/2.8L
70-200 f/2.8L

One-not by choice-I wanted a 200mm Prime that auto focused-and it is an L. The rest are adapted MF lenses or non L EF lenses. Why are people so enamoured by "L" lenses anyway? Its not like they are Angenieux, Jena, or Steinheil Munchen glass:)?

1. haha - the 80-200 f2.8. Not planning on any other L lenses anytime soon though unfortunately.
