There's so much retouching, it's hard to tell.. Looks like some strip boxes on the sides, other than that I'd guess maybe a BD up top, some soft boxes around the perimeter..

It's good lighting, but I think the "wow" factor is really coming into play due to the post-processing and skin retouching.

Simple three light set-up..... Main up front and two rims on each side.
Each person was shot individually, then placed into the final scene. A clear indication of this is to notice how there are no shadows falling onto the person(s) from the person(s) in front of them.
I think you're more impressed with the final out come of the post processing that uses some "form" of the HDR Process than the lighting itself.
Regarding the "actual" light they used..... you can be guessing until the end of time. It could be a Beauty Dish up front and strips on the side just as Brandon mentioned. It also could also be a 5' octodaome used as the main and regular sized 3x4 softboxes on the sides..... who knows! This lighting scenerio can be duplicated in many ways utilizing many modifiers. Then again, it might be just some regular size shoot-thru umbrellas used with some speedlites. Who knows? It's not important on what equipment was used as in compared to "How they were used" along with the lighting ratios in how they were used.
I wouldn't get fixated on the "type" of lighting that was used, instead I would learn how to "see" and "read" the lighting direction. Then try to reproduce it in that manner. Finally, try adding different modifiers until you come up with what you prefer as an Artist.

Oh, definitely a composite, I assumed we started with that.. :)

The only reason I'm guessing strip boxes is due to the shape of the light on the side of the left-most person's face, which is kind of repeated on the front two people.. the shape of it seems rectangular, and it just seems to fall off rather sharply.

Like Mark said though, it could be a wide array of things. Whomever it was has a fair amount of Photoshop talent. I doubt I could replicate that, not that I'm a PS wizard, but it's out of my league.

It's a composite. Each subject was shot with a rim on each side and a bit behind. The main light is a bit varied between the subjects, and it looks like a ringlight may have been used for each shot as well.

As for the PP, it looks to me to be all dodge and burn. This isn't HDR...just d&b.

You could always just message Natalia Taffarel on MM or on FB, she tends to be extremely helpful and will surely tell you.

This is her work (retouching).

I think it's a composite with grid lights behind on both sides and a large octabox in front, judging by the highlights on the shiny pants, as a key light. My guess is that some of the details were brought back in with a Calvin Hollywood-like treatment. If you youtube Calvin Hollywood, you'll see that I mean, it's a way of bringing in new details as an alternative to HDR and Highpass...
