I am talking about the bus, not my bike.

My wife took this with a Canon G9 while we were stuck in traffic. That's me on the Harley.

It's the "road to the sun" in Glacier National Park, and although they may look like 50's technology on the outside they are really very technically advanced propane powered conversions done by Ford Motor Co. under the skin.

Just thought you might like to know.

I was there a few years ago...it's a 1930's White Truck chassis, but the mechanical's I believe if my old memory is correct is a big block Chevy V8.....lot's of torque to shift all that weight up and down the topography.

The big cubic inch, Chevy V8 replaced the old White Truck engine.

Actually they are OLD White Bodies on NEW Ford E350 chassis.... If you look at the wheels, you can tell, as well as the dash and the steering wheel.

They hit a new level of super cool, if they sold them, I'd have one. They run them inside Yellowstone (which are the ones I've seen). I've got pictures somewhere and if you see one, its a lot more interesting than a herd of ELK........

The Whites have been rebuilt and are on Ford chassis...but not the E 350 chassis. They have been mounted on stretched Ford E 450 chassis. The E 450 chassis is a heavier duty model, than the E 350.

The E 450 comes in Cab and Chassis most often and is often used as a foundation for everything from commercial trucks (big cube box vans) , ambulances and motorhomes.

They use the 5.4 V8 gas engine.

Here's an interesting link about the trucks.
