Looks really great! Question from complete movie making noob, how do you achieve the colours like that?

Color grading with a video editing program like After Effects, you can actually do some amazing modifications to video files just as with a RAW picture file.

Its not easy to get this effect though, fcrabbath is very good at creating a cinema look with his videos.

Yep, there is a lot more to learn for video/audio then there is for photography so prepare yourself if you decide to take the plunge! ;)

Just play with CC options on both and see what you like! There is no SET way of doing it.

Will have to try when I get my camera. :)

I see you are using what looks like Zoom H4? How do you sync the sound afterwards? (guess that is something obvious, I have a clue how to, but want to know how to do it properly). :)

Actually i just connect the sound directly to the mic input to avoid syncing later :)

Assuming you don't do that, if your editor can show waveforms on audio tracks, you can line them up visually quite easily.

As for getting color, the first step is to do "color correction" with emphasis on the correction; make all your shots look the same. There's a good 3-part series about how to do CC in FCP here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnP5wlYEfYg (external link) -- but the principles are the same no matter what your software is.
Once you have all your shots corrected so they're all similar, then you create your "look" or "grading." This is where you make it "look cool." You can apply it to a sequence usually, so the same look is applied to all your clips.

I was very worried about syncing sound in post after doing so much reading about it. The first time I did it syncing my H1 to my 550D video, it was easier than I thought it would be. Just match the soundwave forms (I use Vegas). Magnifying it on the timeline makes it easy peasy :)
Color correcting is a whole other animal for me thou! Yikes! Miles to go on that one.
