Hi,

I keep hearing that LumoPro makes good stuff. I see Strobist.com plugging them all the time and am thinking about giving their 10Ft LP608 a try. Has anyone had experience with it? Does it have a wide base and good stability?

LumoPro LP604 (5001b copy) vs. Interfit 8.5ft AC (external link)
Seem similar at manfrotto.
Lumopro 8' AC Lightstand (external link)
An user said that this model is adapt for carry even a strobe with a small (less than 24") softbox.

But you sacrifices the portability (given the weight of this solution) and if there is a wind you should use the same something to hold them.
On summary depend on what you want put on this things.

Looking to upgrade lightstand and umbrella bracket. Advice? (external link)
About looking toward a metal adaptor.

I have the impression that the model LP606 could be a better compromise about portability.

Now i'm reading the weight specification about a big model of octabox (the elichrom octabox 100mm) 1.22kg+Rotalux Speedring 263 g.

Add a flash for 500 g.

metal adaptor for hold flash (g?)*

The LP604 have a Max Capacity (lbs.): 7.5 (3.41 kg)

2kg and something vs 3.41kg

For 50 % perhaps better something less bigger.

Note:
*Now i'm reading the metal adapter seem quite heavy.

Thanks. I'm looking to add a larger stand to my set. I have the manfrotto nano ones now so I havde a good compact solution. Just looking for something a little more beefy when the location I am using might not be suitable for the smaller ones.
